Wollomooloo’s OTTO Ristorante is celebrating its 25th birthday with four cocktail-inspired cannolis, blending Italian tradition with a playful twist.

After you dine on OTTO’s legendary Italian seafood, pasta and steak, dessert is a must. A trolley is rolled up to your table for you to choose from four flavours of boozy cannoli: Nocello, Aperol, Espresso Martini, or Limoncello. Watch as your cannoli is filled with creamy ricotta which has been blended with a taste of classic Italian cocktails. Once filled, your cannoli is dipped in pistachio, hazelnut, or chocolate chips, and dusted with icing sugar. The Espresso Martini is rich and chocolatey, while the Aperol pops with tangy orange pieces. Try one, or all four, like I did!
Launching at OTTO Ristorante Sydney and Brisbane across spring and summer from 24 September until Saturday 28th February, Boozy Dolci is a table-side-crafted trolley offering available à la carte, $14 each. The series is a luxurious nod to tradition with a distinctly OTTO edge.
The flavours
The dessert special features four distinctive cannoli creations, crafted by Sydney Head Chef Richard Ptacnik, and Brisbane Head Chef Will Cowper, each inspired by an iconic Italian liqueur or cocktail:
- Nocello: Hazelnut pastry cream, savoiardi soaked in Nocello
- Aperol: Aperol ricotta cream, candied orange peels
- Espresso Martini:Coffee and Kahlua pastry cream
- Limoncello: Ricotta cream, limoncello jelly, lemon zest
The Boozy Dolci series reimagines the traditional Sicilian cannoli, layering OTTO’s playful edge by pairing it with the flavours of Italy’s most beloved aperitivi and cocktails. Designed as a delightful finish to a harbourside or riverside dinner, Boozy Dolci also pair perfectly with OTTO’s Italian cocktail and digestif list, making them as much a part of aperitivo hour as they are a decadent finale.
