Uber unveils private heli-transfers and boat tours in Italy

Available to book directly in the app, Uber Copter and Uber Boat will change the way you experience the Amalfi Coast.

Each year from June to August, Antipodeans escape the chilly Southern Hemisphere winter in search of the sun-drenched shores of Europe. From the glamour of the French and Italian Rivieras to the beaches of Croatia and the islands of Greece, Europe’s hotspots offer the perfect antidote to the winter blues. This time last year, in response to growing demand, Uber expanded its travel offerings, introducing three new services across six popular destinations. Travellers could book a sightseeing cruise, water taxi, boat ride or private yacht – all at the tap of a button. Uber Yacht launched in Ibiza, Uber Boat set sail in Venice, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and Corfu, while Uber Cruise made its debut in Paris. This year, Uber is taking its rideshare platform to new heights and waters.

Uber reveals three new services in Italy

Uber has unveiled private helicopter and boat services along Italy’s Amalfi Coast. The move is set to transform travel on one of Europe’s most dazzling coastlines, with tourists able to book rides via the Uber app from 25 June 2025. This move marks the first time that Uber users can book helicopter and boat experiences on the Amalfi Coast. The new offerings, Uber Copter and Uber Boat, will officially launch on 26 July 2025, operating every Saturday and Sunday through to 24 August 2025. Travellers can now skip ferry queues and traffic jams by soaring over the coastline or cruising its legendary blue waters in style. Uber Reserve will also be launching in the area.

Each return trip between Sorrento and Capri will cost €1500, with a max capacity of 6 people or €250pp.

  • Operating every Saturday and Sunday, the round-trip journey includes door-to-door transportation to and from the helipad, with a 9am departure from Sorrento and 5pm return from Capri.
