Your article is both correct and incorrect in parts. I have been working as a travel consultant full time for 44 years so I think it stands to reason that I would know a little more about booking the best travel than Mr John Public. But forget the stuff about ATAS. It is neither a guarantee of expertise nor of financial stability. The best way is to check a travel agencies history. If it has been in business 20+ years then you can be more confident that someone who has just opened, particularly since the govt, in its wisdom, decided to disband the Travel Agents Licensing Board so that now anyone with a desk can be a travel agent.
